About Us
Plainfield Area Community Trust, PACT is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization born from the collective vision of Plainfield area residents. We believe in building a stronger, more vibrant community through collaboration and shared passion.
Our Story
It all began in May 2023 with a simple question: how can we make Plainfield and the surrounding area an even better place to live, work, and raise a family? Fueled by this question, a group of residents gathered at Littlewood Farm to share ideas and explore possibilities. With generous support from the Selectboard and the Vermont Preservation Trust, PACT was formed to empower residents and bring their ideas to life.
PACT grew out of neighbors coming together to imagine what our community needs and what we can accomplish together. From supporting our neighbors through flood recovery to helping community-led projects take root, our work is shaped by the people who live here.
What's Next
PACT is entering an exciting new chapter. We are developing new community initiatives, including a Beautification committee and a Good Neighbors Fund, and creating opportunities for neighbors to support projects that make the Plainfield area a stronger and more resilient place to live.
We'll be sharing more soon, including ways to get involved, volunteer, contribute ideas, and support PACT's work.

Our mission is to strengthen the vitality of the Plainfield community by supporting our neighbors, fostering community collaboration, and improving Plainfield’s historical character.
We aim to collaborate, plan, and support village beautification and revitalization projects; provide financial support for community members in crisis; explore opportunities to steward and purchase historic buildings that provide community benefit; and serve as a fiscal sponsor for Plainfield area community and group projects related to our mission.
